A private winter experience combining guided ice fishing, hands-on cooking and local flavors near Rovaniemi.

Would you like to learn how to make a truly delicious traditional Lappish fish soup – or discover how salmon is prepared by an open fire?

This private winter experience combines fishing, hands-on cooking and local flavours into one memorable experience, hosted by a local guide near Rovaniemi.

Begin by heading out for guided ice fishing when ice conditions are safe. Your guide provides the equipment, introduces you to local fishing techniques and helps you try your luck beneath the frozen surface.

After fishing, turn your attention to cooking. Learn how to prepare a traditional Lappish fish dish, such as creamy fish soup or salmon cooked slowly by the open fire. If a suitable fish is caught and can be responsibly kept, it may become part of the meal.

And there is no need to rely on the day's catch – a delicious meal is always prepared and included.

Finally, sit down together and enjoy the food you have prepared. It is a relaxed and personal way to experience Finnish winter traditions through fishing, fire and food.
