Northern Lights Experience - Aurora Promise

3 hours

Easy

Hunt for the Northern Lights with a local guide while experiencing the Arctic night through a responsible and authentic small-group adventure.

Join a small-group Northern Lights hunting experience in the peaceful wilderness surrounding Rovaniemi. We take you away from the crowds to carefully selected viewing locations, including private lakeside spots where you can experience the Arctic night in a quiet and authentic setting.

Before departure, your local guide reviews weather and aurora forecasts and selects the most promising location for the evening. Enjoy seasonal warm drinks, seasonal cookies, and stories about Lapland, local traditions, and life under the northern sky.

Rather than travelling long distances across Lapland, we rely on local knowledge, carefully selected viewing locations, and responsible decision-making. This approach reduces unnecessary driving while creating a more authentic connection to the Arctic environment and the places we call home.

Our goal is always to experience the Northern Lights, while the silence of the forest, frozen lakes, and the atmosphere of the northern wilderness make the journey memorable from start to finish.

Because the Northern Lights can never be guaranteed, this experience includes our Refund Protection policy, offering a fair and transparent approach when conditions do not develop as hoped.

        Refund Protection

Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and can never be guaranteed. Our Refund Protection is designed to provide a fair and transparent approach when conditions do not develop as hoped.

Before every departure, we carefully monitor weather, cloud cover and aurora forecasts. If conditions are not considered suitable for a meaningful Northern Lights hunt, we may cancel the departure free of charge and offer either a full refund or the opportunity to join on another available date.

If no Northern Lights activity is visible to the naked eye during the experience:

        • Choose either a 50% refund or one complimentary rebooking (subject to availability).

If the Northern Lights are visible to the naked eye:

        • The experience is considered successful.

Camera-only observations are not considered a successful Aurora sighting. If the Aurora can only be detected through a camera or photographs, it is treated as not visible for the purposes of our Refund Protection policy.

        What to bring

Warm winter clothing is essential. We may spend time on frozen lakes, in forests, or at other outdoor viewing locations while searching for the Northern Lights.

Please dress for Arctic winter conditions and bring:

          • Warm winter jacket and trousers
          • Winter boots
          • Hat and gloves
          • Extra layers if you're sensitive to cold

You'll enjoy the experience much more when you're comfortably warm while waiting for the Aurora to appear.
