Snowshoeing Aurora hunt with Local Guide

2 hours

Easy

Get out of the city fast and enjoy a snowshoeing adventure with local guides for a fun, refreshing outdoor escape.

Snowshoeing near Rovaniemi’s city center is a unique way to experience Lapland like a local. This route is personally designed and guided by a local expert, offering an authentic journey into the snowy forest — without vehicles or crowds.

What makes this tour special is how quickly you leave the Arctic capital behind and step into deep, silent nature. Within minutes, the city fades and the rhythm of snow underfoot takes over. The crisp air, quiet forest and untouched snow create a refreshing challenge for those with good basic fitness.

During evening adventures, there is also a chance to witness one of Lapland’s most magical natural phenomena: the Northern Lights. If the skies are clear and the aurora is active, you may be lucky enough to see the lights dancing above the snowy forest. As the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, sightings cannot be guaranteed.

This small-group experience (max 6 guests) is ideal for those who want to move, breathe, and connect with Lapland’s winter landscape in a genuine way. Each step brings you closer to the quiet beauty locals know by heart.

      Please note

Arctic days /nights in winter can be extremely cold, often well below freezing. To stay comfortable throughout the evening, we recommend dressing in layers: thermal base layers, a warm insulated jacket, gloves, a hat that covers your ears, and sturdy winter boots with good grip.

The Northern Lights are an unpredictable natural phenomenon and our evening adventures are made to give you a chance to observe them, but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that they will appear.
